Private Game Safari

Greater Kruger Private Safari

Beyond the park fence, the real Greater Kruger begins.

The Greater Kruger ecosystem covers 2 million hectares. Most visitors see a fraction of it — the public park, along tar roads, from a vehicle. Bavukile works in the private game reserves on the western boundary: Timbavati, Klaserie, Balule. The concessions that the main tourist operations cannot access. He takes guests in on foot, in small groups, with guides who are licensed to track dangerous game. Sibusiso joins for two nights and brings the question he always brings: what is this landscape asking of you?

Day by day

Day 1–2

Arrival and Orientation Walks

Fly to OR Tambo or Hoedspruit. Transfer to the private concession. Two orientation walks: short distances, wide attention. Read the spoor, understand the territory, locate the herds. First game drive at sunset.

Day 3–4

Extended Walking Safaris

12–15km each day. Bavukile and the lead ranger on tracking routes through mopane and riverine bush. Lion territory. Buffalo herds. The second day typically produces the most significant encounters.

Day 5–6

Sibusiso Joins — Leadership Evenings

Continue walking safaris in the morning. Evenings with Sibusiso: around the fire, discussing what sustained effort looks like, what endurance requires, and why the natural world is the best classroom that exists for understanding human limits.

Day 7

Final Morning Walk and Departure

A final dawn walk before the transfer out. The light in the Lowveld before 7am is a specific thing — it belongs to the day only briefly. Then: Hoedspruit or Johannesburg, and the world you left behind.

Why With Sibu & Bavu

What makes this different

Private access, private pace. Bavukile has relationships with concession managers across the western Kruger boundary that have been built over years. He knows which areas are currently holding leopard kills, which riverine stretches the lion pride uses at dusk. This is not a tour. It is a guided engagement with a specific ecosystem by someone who operates inside it professionally.
